In October of 1996, Charlotte answered a noticeably friendly, even almost meandering help wanted ad in the Peninsula Daily News, which led to a very amiable talk with Peninsula Heat's founder and owner, Ken Lofstrom. As a result of the meeting, Charlotte learned two things (of undoubtedly many) – first, that she and Ken shared the same birthday, and second, that she had the job, making her one of the first employees of PenHeat.
Running the front office, Charlotte is a stickler for customer service and customer satisfaction. But Charlotte's outlook is a bit broader than most – everyone is her customer. That means, first and foremost, the many homeowners and builders on the Peninsula in need of services and installations. But it also means the service and installation technicians themselves. Her view is that the more she helps them, the better they can, in turn, help the homeowner. And that makes more satisfied customers, all around.
Charlotte shares the office closely with Coral and Theresa, where all three are constantly asking each other, “How can we make this better?” She still loves her job after 15 years, mostly due to all the wonderful people on the Peninsula. “Small towns are good,” says Charlotte. “They build trust.”
