When he was 12 years old, Chuck Schmahl decided he wanted to build houses. He started residential construction when he was 17, sticking with the same employer for 15 years and landing himself the position of Site Foreman by the time he was 20. When the time finally came to step out and be his own builder, Chuck resisted specialization, and has built, remodelled, and rehabilitated houses in Seattle and Bainbridge, as well as Kitsap, King, Jefferson and Clallam Counties.
In 2008, when the suffering economy took its toll on the building trade, Chuck still held onto his desire to help homeowners. Revisiting an earlier interest in HVAC, Chuck demonstrated what the adaptability of the American market was all about and finally specialized in the heating industry.
Chuck enjoys PenHeat's positive energy and lack of a "recession mindset", and when he's not out with customers in Jefferson and Kitsap Counties, he and his wife of thirty years are putting on gourmet events at home for their friends and family (and sometimes the whole town, but that's another story). Both amateur wine enthusiasts, they have enjoyed travels together to places ranging from Dubrovnik and Mljet to Manhattan's Broadway and the Mariners' Spring Training.
